I think that gymnasts have small breasts because they don't want to get injured, or it could be that they just look small because they have to wear tight outfits.
I said on another question on here about puberty that sometimes when a young woman is extrememly active in sports like gymnastics, puberty can slow down or stop. Also I agree with the others who said that it's due to a low percentage of body fat. My cheerleading squad did a fundraiser where we taught little girls cheers/stunts/tumbling. The very tiny little girls were able to do like 6 backhandsprings in a row because they are so tiny and have so much power in those tiny little bodies. Where as, I have very big muscular legs so I always had a hard time tumbling. They have to stay that thin so they can do their sport.
