I think the best thing for u to do is taking a brisk walk everyday, but u shud b very regular about it. Another exercise that may help is "spot jogging" - u know jogging on the spot instaed of running around. I am suggesting these coz I think (assume) ur wt gain is not too much.

You have to watch what you eat and you have to exercise, if you are serious it will work. Try aerobics, sounds good for you.
i would suggest trying squats whish are absolutely great for lower body .but i suggest you consult with your doctor before beginning an exercise routine(jus 2 b on the safer side)and also try brisk walking or jogging or cycling or swimming or..
