Why do I sleep so late??!

Question:
It's been 3.5 months that I always sleep at 2am every day. One year ago, I slept at 10pm, but now it's really hard for me to close my eyes and sleep. I always try to sleep, and drink some green tea or hot milk before sleeping, but it doesn't change anything. The problem is my school starts at 8am, and I need to wake up at 6am. I feel very sleepy all day long. Help me. What should I do? Do I need to take medicine? Help .
Answers:
Try taking like Motrin or Motrin pm, it helps to relax you. And when you go to sleep don't try forcing yourself to sleep. Just try to meditate. It does work sometimes I have a hard time falling asleep too. Just take deep breaths and slow your breathing, it should help to make you tired and then you can go to sleep. Make sure the lights are off, it will help too. Hope this helps

Hello,
I have an underactive thyroid but before this was discovered, I used to sleep all hours of the day. You should go to your doctor and have blood tests done to rule out any problems the blood tests will show if theres a medical reason why your sleeping so much. hope this helps.

I suggest talking to your doctor - your body is just out of whack at the moment - they will probably subscribe sleeping tablets or Kalm to get you back on track with your routines - its all about routine! or try and completely skip a nights sleep and the following night you will be sooo exhausted that you go to bed at 8 and then 10 will seem a little later the night after .. it does mean walking around exhausted for one day though.

It could be stress.
Try to fall asleep with soothing music.

as humans it has been studies by Harvard Med Ctr that we need 9 hours of sleep--so you may be getting just what you need. you also may want to go to bed earlier if you are sleeping in to late so that you get your required #of hrs need for your body.
