Answers:
yes, i get like that sometimes after an attack. for me its kinda like my body gets so tired after fighting to breathe like that it completely wears me out, and it gets so frustrating it makes me very moody and i snap at people who are concerned about me. it gets really rough sometimes, i just try my best to keep my asthma under control so it doesnt get to that point too much. i can feel your pain.

Of course you feel like that. I do too! Allergies are horrible. Allergies are a bad experience.

i know exactly how it feels. yeah its weird feeling i dont like it much. everytime i use my inhaler i wanna sleep and not do anything else

yes,,,,sometimes the meds do that to me. (like the steroids.) Also, adrenaline has strange reactions on the body.

That's kind of interesting. Maybe there is something linked to the attacks. Try having a more positive outlook on life and maybe the situations involving the attacks and the depression will both improve.

Your asthma may be caused by a toxic exposure which is also causing a mild 'toxic encephalopathy'; which is causing the tiredness, moodiness, appetite dis-regulation, etc.

I live in Montana. Spring and fall are 'burn season'. The toxic wood smoke that pollutes our air causes me: 1) asthma, 2) headaches, 3) tiredness, 4) irritability and 5) brain 'fog', amongst other things.

Start paying attention to things you may be getting exposed to prior to the onset of your symptoms. Things like: car exhaust, air pollution, chemicals, sprays, etc. Also, food allergies/intolerances can cause the problems you describe.

Best wishes.

Asthma is not fun at all. that feeling of someone who weighs 400 pounds sitting on your chest holding a plastic bag over your head, it bites big time. i know what you mean about feeling tired and moody and depressed, not wanting to eat. The albuterol was doing that to me too. i believe it is the way the albuterol makes your heart work so much overtime that your whole system just seems to want to go into shut down mode and take a break, but since my Doctors put me on MaxAir Autohaler, and singular it's not quite as bad as when i was using the albuterol, and the MaxAir works faster for me too. Check with your doctor and see if you could try the MaxAir.

Those are symptoms, when you have an asthma attack you have a loss of control your brain chemicals norepinephrine and dopamine levels decrease and cause depression and need to be replenished. Because your body is not getting enough oxygen you also get an adrenaline rush which uses a great amount of energy.
