dry brittle nails will split. either lack of calcium, a nail fungus, or too much attention. If you file and buff your nails a lot you can weaken them. Of if you wear acrylics constantly. Try using Sally Hansen Nail Strengthner and upping the calcium in your diet. (A glass of milk a day, although you need more than that, will do wonders, not only for your nails but your skin as well.)
