ow someone help me with my foot!!?!

Question:
Ok so yesterday I was skating and hit the side of my foot on the ice. It's swollen and I can't really walk on it, the doctor's office is closed, the medicine doesn't help, what should I do!! Thanks.
Answers:
Rest, ice, compression, and elevation is about all you can do until you see a doc. The ice will help the swelling, compression will help you to not injure it any further, elevation is for swelling as well, and rest is to help your body start to heal itself. Take ibuprofen if you can, that really helps the swelling and somewhat with pain.

Other Answers:
go to the er?

ice it then get it warm(keep on repeating to keep swelling down and keep it elevated

Go to the Emergency Room. Its better to be safe than sorry!

rub it? go to the emergency room. ice it maybe??

keep your foot higher than the rest of your body.chances are your are just banged up, everything will be ok.just keep that foot up high

keep it elevated take some anti inflamatories. Put a cold wrap on it for 30 mins and then take it off and release pressure for 30 mins.

Have you tried applying ice, and elevating the foot?
What type medicine are you taking for it? Taking ibuprofen should cause the swelling to go down.

Go to a "care now" or the "er".

have you tried putting ice on it to reduce the swelling? Also taking some type of pain medication (something like an Alieve, Advil) will help reduce the swelling. make sure to elevate it as well.

Sometimes swelling will go down on it's own too.if you give it a few days (I know..painful suggestion if you can't walk on it). If it is really hurting, I would suggest going to the ER though. If nothing else they can tell you if you broke, or sprained something and give you an air cast, maybe crutches.

3 swollen ankles at various times in my life. I feel your pain as I know what it is like to have a swollen foot, and not be able to walk). Good Luck.

By this time, ice is useless. Soak the foot repeatedly in hot water and otherwise keep it elevated. At the earliest opportunity, go see a doctor.

elevate it and ice it and go to the doc's office when it opens. I've done this before you'll be fine

it is bruised, put ice on it for 15 minutes, then heat for 15 minutes, alternate heat then cold and keep it elevated to reduce swelling. see doctor when possible.

lol same thing happened to me. well lucky me, im asain, so my parents are very good at natural remedy, they used some herbs, sorry dont know what its called and rubbed it on my feet, a week later. it healed. but u can try this. warm water very warm water in a bucket, regular size bucket that will fit ur feet up to ur legs, then put some salt in it, stir it a little, then leave ur feet in it for a while, one hour about. better if two, u wont be able to wear shoes but it wont hurt as much and you should be able to limp on it without any help. or better yet, have ur boifriend kiss the pain away. lol.

Aww you poor girl. You should put some ice on it sraight away, or even a packet of frozen peas. Whichever you choose, make sure it's cold, but not to the point where it will give u frost bites lol. Ice is usually the best, just put some cubes in a small plastic bag and maybe wrap a small towel around it and then put it on your foot. Try not to walk on it at all. You may have just sprained your ankle or possibly fractured a bone. Don't be scared, you won't lose your foot. Doctors treat this kind of thing all the time :)
Get well soon.
