Far too many people are HIV+ due, in part, to our government's handling of this epidemic.the Reagan Administration stuck it head in the sand, thinking it would go away. The Bush administration is not doing much better.
Guesstimates are.90% of prostitutes are HIV+. The remaining 10 % are waiting to be infected.the new girls (or boys) on the block.a one way street. This is no moral judgement on the career, just a medical observation.
The alarming thing about HIV is the fastest growing group of those who are becoming infected are straight teens who are practicing unsafe sex. Straight sex is more apt to pass HIV to both men and women than is gay sex. Entire nations are going down because of this disease. It is estimated that 40% of the Caribbean population may be infected. African nations are suffering greatly .loss of blue and white collar workers is taking a serious toll on their economies. Entire nations are in denial.Cuba will not openly admit any HIV infections, yet they have quarantine camps set up for HIV+ people. Until recently, China denied any cases. Thailand is wracked with HIV. Our population has been decimated. And, because of medications that, for the moment, extend life to those with HIV, safe sex is on the decline while HIV infections are growing at an alarming rate. Make no mistake about it, HIV is a death sentence. And, in my observations, those who admit they are infected become an outcast, so many will not admit to being infected. IN fact, too many will not go for tests.talk about denial! Trust that anyone who wants unprotected sex IS HIV positive. They have nothing to loose, do they? YOu may think this is an exaggeration but it is NOT.think about this carefully before you have sex with anyone! It may make your sex partner's experience in bed better without protection, but it can make your life a living hell if you give in to that line of thinking.
