Other Answers:
heat. the best way is with a heatpack or a hot water bottle. if those are unavailable or inupropriot at the given time, then i suggest a product called deep heat, it's a cream so u just rub it on and it gives a warming sensation. also peppermint is good

I Think its called Theragesic Paul Harvey Recommends it

its COD liver oil.

its damn good man. and its natural.
or other fish omega 3 oil

Usually we prescribe medications like brufen for the dose of 400mg 3 times daily on meals or shortly after..
a more potent drug is called diclofenac sodium, taken as 2 tablets of 50mg over 24 hours i.e one tablet each 12 hours.also while eating or shortly after.
but be careful, these drugs are contraindicated(not allowed) for patients with ulcers in stomach or the duodenum, which is the first part of the intestines.cause if there is an ulcer and the patient took this kinds of medications it might get him into bleeding from the stomach or having a hole in the stomach.so better watch out and consult a doctor first.
another contraindication is asthma, because it might make an attack worse.
as i said,go check a doctor first.PLEAAAAASE

First start by seeing a rheumatologist and work with him/her to find the right treatment for you. What works for one may not work for you. I have RA and have found this to be so very true. You may need one medication or several along with heat application. Please do not use heat and any of the creams for joint or muscle pain as this will cause a chemical burn which can be more painful that the pain you are in now. See a rheumatologist and get the best answer for you.

See your doctor regarding your situation, as everyone is different, and there is a big difference between Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Ask him or her about Glucosamine with Chondroitin and MSM towards a longer term benefit. After about two months of use, it has alleviated my Osteo-Arthritis symptoms that first appeared ten months ago. Also ask about exercise and therapy. Good luck to you.

Personal experience.

first are you at your normal weight for your age and body type, is it osteo or rheumatoid, how is your daily diet, sleep and flexability range? try not to go to the drugs that they have taken off the market and reintroduced. try these things and go to your doc. naprosyn is the drug my doc is telling me to use. i have osteoartheritis if you have rheumatoid you need a more regimented therapy.oh yah and ice rather than heat usually helps me, but sometimes if my muscles are knotted too i do use heat.
