can you get T.B. if your mom had when she was younger?!

Question:

Answers:
I don't believe you can contract tuberculosis unless your mother has it, and it happens to be active. Just the same, because you have been exposed to the bacteria in question, it might be wise to see a doctor at your local clinic and request a skin culture to find out if you have anything to be concerned about. Should you have a significant reaction to the skin culture, that does not necessarily mean you HAVE tuberculosis. It just means that you might want to request the INH (isoniazid - which is probably the most common medication) for the treatment and cure of TB.

I hope this information helps you.

It's transferred primarily through bodily fluids like saliva of a contagious person. So no, your mom didn't pass on an immunity to it, but no, you aren't going to get it just for being her kid either.

No I dont think you can. But maby check a doc.

No. TB is a bacterial infection. You catch it the same way you catch a cold actually. By taking the bacteria in through the mucus membranes in your body (eyes/nose/mouth). If your mother was "cured" with antibiotics before you were born, you could not get it from her.

T.B is not an heriditary disease.it transmit from bacteria. It is droplet infection meaning that it spread from inhaling the drops.it usually spread from breaths of a patient. If ur mom was previously cured completely by taking 6 or ( months treatment then u can not get it as now no bacteria ramain behind to infect u.
