There is a reason for the behavior you're representing. You may not want to go to a counselor but if you want to stop hurting yourself I would advise it. They'll help open you up to why you're doing it and ways to stop to doing it and help give you a healthy perspective on life.

Genereally when someone is inflicting injury upon themselves its because there has been some sort of trauma (mental or physical) in the past. Perhaps you want to "release" the pain or it may be from Stress, or it may be that you want to punish yourself for some reason. Any and all of these are a great reason to get some counsel. It will help bring your life together. You can do it.

you can't - seek help.

I am so sorry for you. YOu really need to try to build a relationship with God first. I can talk to you more if you like.

Drop a toaster in the bath, worked for my friend.

If you have a job to do you have to do it well.

You should see a counselor for this, you need help understanding why you do it and how to stop.

Well, I would say to go to a councellor. You may not want to go to a councellor because you know they will help you. By not going you are causing more self harm to yourself. If you tell someone like a parent, they will help you, because you cannot do it by yourself.

Find a healthly way to calm down, like exercise or word searches when you feel like you want to cut. My fave is a punching bag when I'm upset.

u need help immediatly. if u don't speak to anyone u won't feel better.

just dont do it breathe meditate or find some other way to let your pain out buy a dozen eggs and throw them in the shower so there is not a big mess punch a pillow find someone to talk to

I agree with icanplaygood. Seek out a relationship with God. He will fix you, He fixes everyone. =) Even me ;)

Counseling is a good option as many counselors are aware of tools to keep you from this kind of behavior that the lay person doesn't know.

If you are dead-set against going to a counselor though, there are two key things I suggest:

First, find someone to be accountable to. This person is someone with whom you need to be able to be honest about your behavior and patterns. Ask them to hold you accountable for the cutting. It would help if this is a person you can call when you feel you're going to cut.with whom you can talk through a problem in hopes of finding a resolution that is not self-mutilation.

Second, explore the reasons for cutting and on your own, find some things that will keep you from proceeding. Know the signs of when you're going to cut, keep yourself aware when you begin down that path and deviate from it. Take a walk, play with a pet, call a friend, take a nap, go for a drive. Do something to distract your focus from cutting. Often if you can get past the moment by diverting your attention, you can get past that episode.

find something else, do you like pain? try getting tatoos instead, talk to a doctor if you don't want to go to pysch. also there are lots of free help lines to talk with somebody, companies like Wal-Mart and Sears have phone #'s for that also, even if you don't work for one you can ask their human resources office over the phone for the # and pretend you work for them I guess, but if you don't do something to help yourself, you might go too far and will be missed.

Identify the stressor(s) that make you hurt yourself. You cannot stop until you understand why you started. Once you identify these stressors, try to eliminate them from your life. You should also confide in someone. This can help you when you have these urges. Just stop and think about what you are about to do, and call a trusted friend or family member to talk about your stressors-this will help you work through them. But, I would definately seek counseling in addition to this.
