If you stick your tongue out and see any color other than pink, brush your tongue; If you gag easily stick out your tongue as far as possible and gently bite your tongue, then brush the portion of tongue, in front of your teeth. (i'm not kidding) The teeth block the gag reflex. try to get the portion farther back as best you can. It may take a few days but your tongue will gradually go back to a healthy pink color. Then your bad breath will go away.

The odor caused by bacteria on the tongue and sulfer compounds by products, that they are busily at work making all night while you sleep. So if if you get rid of the bacteria there, the smell goes too.
