How can I get my taste buds back?!

Question:
I either have a cold or allergies. I don't know which yet. This is the time of year when my allergies act up the worse, but yet it's acting like a cold. My throat got sore and then, when my nose started running, it stopped bein' sore. But now, I can't taste anything and it's driving me crazy! Someone help, PLEASE!

I'm afraid your taste buds may take up to 6 months to recover and there is no quick fix to this, they have reacted to the cold bug that you had but they regain taste sooner than this depends how badly they have been affected x

I'd suggest seeing a doctor, maybe an allergist. The only times I have lost my taste is when I scalded my mouth on hot stuff.

People who smoke lose their taste buds. If you smoke, stop and you will enjoy food so much more. Maybe you don't smoke, but do you have a loved one or co-worker who smokes near you? Maybe you need to get away from them.

A friend of mine has allergies but can't take medicine for them. He uses honey. You have to get LOCALLY PRODUCED honey from a beekeeper. Commercial honey is blended from all over the country and has different pollens in it. You need the pollen from you local area, the stuff that is affecting you.

Also, ask the beekeeper-- you want honey that has not had the pollen strained out of it. My friend puts a couple tablespoons on his toast every morning and he says it really helps. Give it a try and good luck!
