Hi There it's because your hormones makes your skin very sensitive to the touch and shaving just pulls at the hair roots and hurts like hell during your period.
It's probably because you're body's resistance is a bit lower than normal, you're feeling a bit punk, and your senses are heightened somewhat. My hair used to hurt during my period.
