Question:
I know someone that's like, 14 years old and weights 210. I'm worried about him and i was wondering if some could tell me how he can lose the weight.

I admit, i'm kinda chubby too.
Answers:
Talk to your friend and tell them you want to lose some weight and would they be interested in being a exercise buddy. Why don't you encourage this person to be more active you can do it together. Start walking everyday after school and then build up to doing more and other things.

You need to start changing your diet and help them to do the same. You can eat more but less of the foods that we call empty calories which are high in saturated fats. Try this diet:

1) Always eat 6 meals a day but try to ensure that your carbs are low GI. This will speed up your metabolism.
2) Eat 2 hours before exercise and 1 hour after. This will mean that you are burning fat and weight rather than the actual food.
3) Try to limit your carbs after 4pm. Increase your proteins and vegetables around this time.
4) A good balanced diet would be:
a) 7am - cereal w skim milk OR 1 piece of toast & smoothie
b) 9am go for a walk (start at 1 hour and build up)
c) 11am - apple or 10 walnuts
d) 1pm - multigrain salad roll w lean meat
e) 3.30pm - low gi yoghurt
d) 6pm - lean meats and vege
f) 7pm - low cal jelly
g) drink 2-3 litres of water no soft drinks or juices

Goodluck!

Other Answers:
stop eating junk and fast food, and stop sitting in front of the TV/computer so much.

By the way, how tall is he?

first how tall is he?If he's like 6'1' then he's alright.Tell him he can get diabetes or heart diease and have a very high blood pressure and die early for being obese.

LOL im 13 and weigh 220! i know soon enough i will have to deal with this problem.. wether it be a triple bypass or a ghastric bypass.. or going on a diet and watching what i eat. I am happy now and to me that is all that matters! I am about to go get a membership at a health club and try to resolve this issue in a safe realistic way. Try getting him to join Tops or some other program!

It's great that you're worried about him. But only he can make the decision to lose weight.
The basic equation of losing weight is eat less and move more. There's a lot of ways this can be accomplished--your friend needs to find what ways work for him.

I have a son who is turning 14 in a few weeks and he was in the same boat about a year ago! I always had to buy him husky clothes and it was troubling. I tried to limit how much he ate and he was never one for sweets so that didn't work. He has now dropped the weight and is looking great - he did it by getting away from the video games and the TV. Due to some poor grades, these were taken from him so he was forced to do other things that didn't involve being stationary and entertained. He is riding his bike and playing outside. Just this simple change in behavior is making a huge impact on his weight. So, I don't recommend a radical diet at that age - just get up and move! Go for a walk - use a walkman or ipod and put some great, upbeat jams on it - ride a bike!

stop eating junk food, get off your coumputer and go get some exercise, drinking a lot of water helps to. [ you don't need to go to McDonald's for lunch ]

Compulsive Overeating

Compulsive Overeaters are often caught in the vicious cycle of binge eating and depression. With Compulsive Overeating food is used as a coping mechanism to deal with uncomfortable feelings. Many Compulsive Overeaters speak of using the Compulsive Overeating episodes as a way to numb all that is going on around them. The amount of food eaten and duration can vary greatly for a Compulsive Overeater.

For many individuals suffering from Compulsive Overeating, binges may not be able to be broken into specific episodes but rather days where the individual eats more than normal throughout the day. Triggers for Compulsive Overeating include depression, anxiety, interpersonal stressors, boredom, prolonged dieting, and body image dissatisfaction.

Compulsive Overeating may temporarily relieve the stress of these unwanted feelings, but for the Compulsive Overeater the overeating episodes are unfortunately followed by feelings of guilt, shame, disgust, and further depression. For the Compulsive Overeater, episodes of Compulsive Overeating usually occur in secret and any evidence is often hidden from others.

It is not uncommon for Compulsive Overeaters to eat normally or even restrictively in front of others and then make up for eating less by Compulsively Overeating in private at a later time. Compulsive Overeating late at night, when others are asleep or frequenting fast food restaurants and convenience stores alone, can also be common. Many Compulsive Overeaters even have a secret stash of junk food hidden for their personal use.

Similar to Anorexics and Bulimics, Compulsive Overeaters are constantly struggling and unhappy with their weight. With Compulsive Overeating, the number read on the scale often determines how the Compulsive Overeater feels about themself. Constant dieting and restricting food becomes a way of life for the Compulsive Overeater.

Each new diet is tried in hope that it will be the one that works to combat the Compulsive Overeating. At first, there may even be some weight loss success for the Compulsive Overeater with the diet, but unfortunately in most cases each diet ends in failure and all the lost weight is regained. Thus continues the devastating cycle for the Compulsive Overeater.

Medical complications from the Compulsive Overeating behavior can be severe and even life threatening for Compulsive Overeaters. Diabetes, hypertension and cardiac problems are just a few of the dangerous complications of Compulsive Overeating.

Like Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, Compulsive Overeating is a disease and cannot be cured with willpower alone.

Best of Luck.

I would suggest to the two of you that walking helps a lot in losing weight. Making it a habit in doing that and I'll bet that in a month you will see the difference, in both of you. Also watching what you eat helps out a lot too. No greasy food, and a slice of bread,in each meal, also substituting canola oil instead of vegetable oil would be better in cooking meals and no munchies too much fat in them.
