how many mrsa infected are there. is there any cure for mrsa infected. will it t!

Question:

Answers:
Ther are no statistics for the number of people infected with MRSA.
MRSA is treated with IV antibiotics- Vancomycin and is totally treatable. I was surprised to find that some other countries do not use vancomycin ie: England, therefor people are needlessly dying from this infection.
It will not turn into HIV. It isnt a virus.
Many health care proffesionals are infected with the bacteria and dont even know it because it is colonized, meaning the bacteria is present but causing no symptoms or illness.

Other Answers:
About 1% of the american population is colonized with MRSA, which means the bacteria is just hanging out in their noses. There are many cures for MRSA, depending on the other antibiotics to which the bacteria is resistant. Most MRSA cases can be treated with clindamycin, tetracycline, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, vancomycin, or a combination. There is no chance that MRSA will turn into HIV as MRSA is a bacteria and HIV is a virus.
