The Human Immunodeficiency Virus enters the body some way. When it enters the bloodstream it enters crucial immune response cells. Once these cells have been infected it seems like nothing is happening. When those initial cells are being attacked there is a response that is felt in some way. It takes about two weeks or 10-14 days for the initial cells to be destroyed. Cell upon cell coming into contact with virus but being destroyed. Think of rubbing your feet vigorously on a carpet and then touching metal.
Now think of the immune system like tracks in a recording studio or screens on a computer. These initial cells or this first track is still working but the cells are not as prominent. Now, the amazing immune system actually rebounds and track two starts working. This goes on and on and on until track two is lowered and then track three begins and so on. When the immune system has spent all its "tracks" then HIV progresses to what is called AIDS.
