Answers:
I have hpv and started getting really bad cramps, I go to get a pap every year.I went to my obgyn last may to get my pap and the hpv had given me cervical cancer. So yes go to the obgyn and have them do a really good exam!! remind them you have hpv!

Other Answers:
about 70% of all adults have HPV. some people clear it, others have it long-term. It ain't the end of the world. In some women, it can take as long as three years to show up. So chances are, you might have gotten HPV from someone else. If you dry-humped an old boyfriend in high school, that could have passed HPV to you (it's passed through direct skin contact, which means condoms don't offer 100% protection -- but they're better than nothing!).

So what do you do now? well, there are plenty of good and understanding folks who -- if they care enough about you -- will be okay with using protection during your relationship and understand the risks involved. Then again, in case that doesn't fly, remember i said 70% of people have HPV? Yeah, you stand a great chance of finding another guy who has it too.

And cramps are NOT a symptom of HPV unless you have advancing cervical cancer. Get your Pap smears EVERY year from here on out.

I work for your friendly local health department.

Well, first of all, u have to talk to the girls, tell they the true about this guy, he can not go by the world infecting people (In some parts this is a crime, because he know he has an STD an is spreding this infecction).

Second
Take care of your life, HPV is not the end of the world, and its total controllable. Its true, it can cause cervical cancer, but if u take care of it, and check your self at least every year, u will have a very good and healty life.

Third
The HPV is the most contagious STD exists. Many people have it. U CAN STILL have boyfriend, but remember, always, but always say the true, love can do miracles things, and when someone love u, the other things no matter

What is HPV? I'm lost and I thought I knew it all about STDs

I have HPV (Human Papillomavirus) and I don't have cramps. I have had genital warts and cervical cancer though, which are caused by the HPV virus. HPV is NOT curable. It is a virus and will stay with you the rest of your life. People usually go through life not realizing that they have it because there really are no symptoms. 75% - 80% of the WORLD has HPV. That's why it is spread so easily from person to person.

As for your ex having it, and knowing he had it but didn't tell you, is not cool! What a jerk. Don't worry it's not the end of the world. You'll be able to start a new relationship with no problem. HPV is VERY common. Good luck.
