how can i stop smoking if I AM nerves?!

Question:

This is how I did it: I got "Nico Derm" patches 21 mg. I put one on and that made the urges able to resist. When I thought that I was going to smoke, I went ahead and put another patch on.(Even though it says to never do that). I am telling you the truth, I never had one urge to smoke that I couldn't resist doing it like this. I suggest not to buy the cheaper brands cuz I tried that & they did not work. Pretty soon, you'll forget about 2 patches and you'll only require 1.pretty soon, and do this at your own pace, drop to a lower mg patch, & there again, at first, you may need 2 but soon you'll be down to 1.Then once you get to 7 mg for a few weeks, you'll resent the price of the patches and you will just quit. Don't hurry yourself on the switching of mg patches.Do it at your own pace. I was on the 21 mg ones for 3 months before I felt like going lower. You have to really "WANT" to quit. My boyfriend & myself decided to give each other the gift of life of at least 10 more years for quitting now.GL2U.

its all about will power, if you want to stop smoking then just do it

Get a prescription for Wellabutrin. It helps people stop smoking and is for antianxiety, too. I haven't used it, but both my dad and my ex did with success.

it is a hard road to go girly I have tried to quit many times, but they say the more you try the more chance of success in the future. Just go for it, you can do it, just takes time.

stop being a little weakling. you have stinky breathe, you are wasting your time, money, health, life, to feed that addiction.

cut it down to 2 cigs a day for a couple weeks. then 1 or 2 cigs a week, forever if you want. just stop being a little weak addict. that's how I went about it. still smoke at bar or party occasionally, but I am not the weakling addict I was before. and my breathe doesnt stink anymore, and my heart is better. i am in better shape too.

Get a doctor to show you a set of diseased lungs from a cancer patient, which have been removed during an autopsy. If these blackened, horrible things don't convince you, nothing will, and we may see you in the obituary pages sooner, if not later. I also hope you either have a fortune or great health insurance. Have you made a will, and made arrangements for your burial or cremation?

To give up smoking is a life changing experience. What I would do first off is sit down and list when the urge strikes you to light up, and of course what is associated with that urge. After you have listed everything, then decide how or what you could do to avoid these activities. Example (you enjoy a cigarette after dinner, get up from the table and go for a walk, thus no cigarette) Remember, giving up cigarettes is like breaking any habit, only proceed one day at a time. If you don't secede today then try again tomorrow. Change the lifestyle, enjoy life.

try nicorettes.worked for me

You have to find a way to quit that works for you. A method that's not complete torture to carry through. I would recommend you see a doctor. He/she can prescribe Wellbutrin/Zyban and you may need an anti-anxiety agent, as well. Your doctor should be able to help.

I quit about a year and a half ago. I took Wellbutrin, which is a non-nicotine prescription drug, and I also did nicotine replacement therapy with Commit Lozenges. I recommend both products highly. I wouldn't have made it without both of them. I think I remember reading that using both methods doubles your chances of quitting. Good Luck!

try getting something to occupy yourself also don't smoke that cigarette in the morning and just keep yourself busy

My sister-in law is a very nervous person.when she was pregnant the Dr. actually told her to keep smoking because it was worst for the baby to feel the stress..so maybe if you quit your nerves might get worst..maybe you should go to a Dr. and get something for your nerves.then try to quit..cut down gradually because I tried cold turkey before and I turned into a witch..
