I want to dye my hair HELP!?!
Question:
i want to dye(lightbrown) my hair but i'm scared i don't want my hair to fall out and i want to do it myself. I just got a prum and how long do I have to wait? and will my hair fall out?

After a perm you should wait at least a month, because the hair is already damaged. If you're wanting to bleach it lighter color, you will want to wait 6-8 weeks. And PLEASE don't do it yourself. I'm naturally dark blond, and the at home highlighting kits aren't strong enough to lighten my hair - it's been orange several times because the at home products are inferior. If you're wanting to go darker than your natural color, then go for it after you wait for your perm to relax a little.
You should not worry about how you look. A lot of people want to change their look because people might discriminate us. You shouldn't care of what they think because we are all equally unique and we should be proud of how we look. Hey we aren't all perfect.
And you can do damage to your hair if you keep on dying it. Do you want that? I don't think you do. Don't worry.
If you have just purmed your hair, wait a couple of week until you try and color.
If you over process your hair, it could fall out.
If you are black I imagine your hair is black also?
Therefore, if you want to change your hair from black to brown most dye wont change that. The process would be bleaching your hair and then applying some hair color. If you want to dye your own hair go to a beauty supply store near you and ask questions. Get some advice from a hair salon. I have been dyeing my hair for years and I buy my products from a beauty supply store. Dont buy junk dye from a drug store, walmart, etc. Also, using the wrong process can turn your hair green.
I would suggest atleast two weeks after getting a perm as the chemicals in this are quite strong and you shouldn't dye hair straight after getting one.
I would highly recommend going to the hairdresser and maybe getting some light brown highlights first to see if you like the colour then you can dye all your hair like that or not. Being black your hair will take longer / need a stronger solution to get it to light brown and if you do a homejob the colour has a tendency to go an orangey colour because your hair is dark.
Don't be disheartened but sometimes going to the hairdressers is the best bet as I have had some horror 'home dying' jobs and have ended up having to go to the hairdressers anyway to get my hair fixed! Hope this helps
