Help me with a rash question?!

Question:
My son has a rash that is raised filling to the touch. It kinda fills like sandpaper. It is all over his checks, trunk, fore arms, and legs. He has a slight fever and was sick with vomiting 2 nights ago. He acts fine now except complains of a headache. Want to you think it might be? He is 9 years old and current on all of his shots.
Answers:
Have you ever heard of fifths disease? It's a little like measles.. very common but.. can be contageous. You can take him to the doctor if that is what it is and there's not much they can give you for it. Treat it like you would poison ivy and give him baths in that oatmeal powder stuff.. it will soothe the itching. But.. for sure I'd get a positive ID on this from a physician.

His shots? Is he taking shots for something?

Not sure on that. If you haven't taken him to a doctor by now, you should..be on the safe side.

you are not a good speller

i don't know what it could be.but it sounds bad.try taking him to the ER.and hopefully u can find out whats wrong.and hopefully he will get better soon! I'll be praying for him!

every person reacts differently to plants, but i always use real aloe from my plants, and that keeps me from itching.

but you should not use it every day- like about 3 days a week about 1-2 times a day--- seperated days

take him to the doctor, please.

free advice isn't worth a dam*

Well i have no idea really but those are symptoms of meningicoccal.especially if the rash appeared on trunk first.but u say he's improved now and just has headache i think if meningicoccal they rapidly deteriorate.maybe an allergy.but i would take him to hospital and get checked out

My three year old gets two patches like that on her legs. One is permanent, one comes and goes. She got eczema and is allergic to egg white. She also got an intolerance to lactose. Sounds like an intolerance or allergy to me and i would take him to a chinese herbalist if he was mine.

WELL GO TO THE DOCTORS AND THE DOCTOR IS PROBABLY GOING TO GIVE YOU A MEDITATION THAT WILL HELP IT

I was trying to think of several things it could be BUT I got to thinking if it's from his head to his toes pretty much it's a little concerning. You should definately take him to a doctor. If you don't have insurance I would take him to the ER. If these are not options for you, you can try Benadryl. That is over the counter and you can also get some Hydrocortizone ointment to put on the rash. He's obviously having an alergic reaction to something.

If he has been vomiting for two days, has a headache, fever and rash he definitely should be seen by a doctor! Having all his shots @ nine years old has nothing to do with his current symptoms he needs to be evaluated, these are not the symptoms of the common cold, he could have been bitten by something and is having or had an allergic reaction. He needs medical attention by a professional!

maybe he is allergic to something.

I was on the shot program for 6 yrs and suddenly I had a bad reaction and got hives, rash, fever, breathing problem and end up in the er. After that the dr. did the skin test and blood test and could not find out what had triggered the reaction so he took me off the shot program. Talk to his pediatrist and immunologist to find out what's happening to your son. Hopefully there's nothing bad but just be on the safe side to have both of them take a look at your son's rash and follow up with the fever. Good luck.
