What are current health concerns in Ireland?!

Question:

Answers:
On the whole, Irish health concerns are not that much different to the rest of Europe.

The biggest issues are heart-disease and cancer. Ireland has a very high rate of heart-disease for a western country, mainly caused by a fatty diet and lack of exercise. Breast cancer and lung cancer are common enough, with prostate cancer a common ailment in older males.

Parkinsons disease and Alzheimers are also big concerns here, but I don't think Ireland is any different than anywhere else in this matter.

Alcoholism is also an issue, but strangely it rarely makes the headlines. Parents are concerned with the recent culture of binge-drinking in younger people.

The MMR vaccine was also an issue for many parents but the controversy is dying down now that nearly every study has failed to prove aby link to autism. Many parents were electing not to have their children vaccinated, and as a result Measles was making a come-back.

Obviously also people are very worried about bird flu and what it could mean if it got here, or mutated into a human-borne illness.

Diseases aside, the biggest health concerns are to do with the hospitals and how they are managed. The admissions system is appalling, and there are huge delays and waiting lists for some types of surgery. Everybody is complaining that there are not enough beds and not enough doctors and consultants to deal with the demand. It's a huge political issue.
