I answered this question two days ago, but I don't know what happened to my response. I and my mother are allergic to turkey and chicken. We get very sick up to 12 hours after eating it with severe diarrhea, which lasts for 3 days. Both of us developed this problem at about age 30. I think it is similar to lactose intolerance, in that we lack some kind of enzyme needed to digest poultry. I have never seen that enzyme identified.
