Because not everyone cares what you find incredibly attractive. It's more convenient for them.
glasses are a pain in the butt to take care of and they hurt when you wear them for any great length of time.
It's supposedly an ideal not to need vision help (It is seen by some as a negative attractive trait, evolutionarily), and therefore many people try to hide the fact that they have had eye problems because they are insecure or vain or simply don't like glasses. At any rate, glasses can be a fetish, as you say.

thank u! although i have been stuck with glasses for 14 yrs now and its awful, i cant swim or go to parties or do such things without them, i cant fall asleep watching tv till i have taken off my glasses, its boring and it also keeps me from wearing sun glasses which are very cool!
GLASSES ARE BORING, they let u get stuck with one look all ur life :(
because I hate waking up in the morning and not being able to see until I have either found my glasses or contact lenses.
Being short-sighted is really annoying and expensive! I'd rather pay a one-off fee for surgery and then never have to pay out for my stupid piss-poor sight again.
Having said that, I do look good in glasses :o)
Glasses give you a limited range of vision(In the frame). They are not wearable while swimming, etc.They also get stained very often. And not everybody looks good in glasses. So lazer or lenses are a better option.
i have a friend and she had to wear these heavy glasses until she got laser eye surgery. no she wears glasses with `window`glass in it because she looks good with them so one does not exclude the other.
lazer eye surgery actually reduces the number from ur eyes and makes them really acurate . it is usually done for a purpose . if some one wants to join the airforce , or has been wearin soda bottl tye glasses ,e would generall prefer his eye sight to be 0.0 by the help of lazer treatment , most people dont enjoy wearin glasses as they feel uncomfortable , thts the major reason y contact lens came into existence
I would never have laser surgery on my eyes! I'd justrather wear the glasses! But some folks are much to vain for glasses I think!
it depends on there type of work.
Not everyone likes glasses. They can be a hassle you know.
some people want to be able to c very well, and dont like wearing glasses cos of the way it makes them feel. with lazer eye surgery they dont really have that problem anymor with eyesight. u wouldnt really like the thought of not being able to see alot of things, having things be mor blurry to u. its just the thing people would prefer to do to better their eyesight
