anybody ever had a bad experience at a nail salon?!

Question:
just wondering if anyone else has.
Answers:
Of course! It's a service industry. It isn't always perfect. You have to try different places and manicurists til you find one you like and trust. It's just like going to a restaurant with bad service or food. Anyone who has gone to nail salons more than once has probably had at least one bad experience.

Other Answers:
Yeah. each time they hand me the bill! Can you say "overpriced and my cuticles still don't look good?"

They ripped my cuticle during a manicure, making it bleed and then stinging started after nailpolish got into the cut! What happened to you?

Whew, I did. I was walking by one, and some chick broke a nail and went balistic and started shootin' up the place!

Absolutely. These bad experiences didn't happen at the same salon, either. I had acrylics put on - they ground into my natural nail bed so deep, it took my nails forever to recover after they grew out. I have got punctured while having a pedicure, and have had blood drawn while they were filing the acrylic down. I have had many good experiences, however. Just make sure you do your homework, and tell them if you are uncomfortable at any time.

YES.
1.The one time I got acrylics they filed down my nails with too harsh of a machine and it ruined my nails forever. It's taken years now they're finally strong cuz I take my nutritional supplement. They're really not supposed to do that, that way. Now I know to ask them not to when I go in.
2.They've made me bleed by cutting my cuticles too short! They say "Oh np, it'll b ok" but it's NOT cuz it gets hurt and infected that way.
-Both of these are b/c the artist is impatient and in a hurry!!

no not at the salon
but once i got false nails done they looked great an all
i was working in a catering company making buffets for parties
while in work 1 day i noticed 1 of my nails had fallen off and the buffet i had just made up had gone out to be delivered
thankfully we had no come back on it

Just once. I was getting a pedicure and the gal clipped the edge of my right large toe when she was removing the cuticle. The manicurist was so embarrassed and she immediately used an antibacterial agent and applied pressure to the toe so I guess it could have been worse. Just seems like I kicked the toe every time I turned around until it healed!

By the way, this is exactly why I go to a salon that actually sterilizes their equipment in a sterilizer (not just by tossing them in the antibacterial liquid).
