How can I break out of a rut? I've become a supreme procrastinator! Have you c!

Question:
I used to have loads of energy. Now I can barely do anything. I cannot get my work, home or bills organized. My house is a cluttered mess in some areas. Starting to slowly put back on some of the weight I lost 2 years ago, but I can't get it together to tackle these problems. I used to be a real go-getter and high achiever. WTF?
Answers:
I suffer from the same problems. In fact, I couldn't have worded the question any differently. I know exactly what you are going through.

BUT right now, I am working with an organizer to get my house in order. She's already helped me create an easier filing system so my bills are done in an orderly way, and put away quickly (and MAJOR problem with my cluttering). She's helped to get things organized in my garage and basement. and I haven't had the nerve to let her into my bedroom suite, but I will someday soon.

One of the things that has helped me tremendously is making a list of "daily chores" or a "to do" list. I make cute little boxes to the left of them (I'm a doodler) and make sure I have a nice sparkly ink pen to check things off with (the sparkles are not necessary, they just make it fun!). I also will draw a line straight through the task if I feel like it. It's nice because checking or scratching things off your "list" really helps you have a sense of accomplishment. Something I was truely lacking.

As far as "focus". lost energy, can't get work done, maybe you are mentally distracted by things around you. I work from home and have distrations ALL day. it's very hard to keep on one task when you're being pulled in various directions. It was actually making me so anxious, that I had this sense of doom and gloom and couldn't get past it. My doctor perscribed me a anti-anxioty drug, and that has helped significantly. It helps keep me focused and I don't get all down about stupid little things.

The weight, well, I hear you! I lost 30 lbs two years ago, and recently found 15 of it. it really pisses me off! But I know that once my life is back on track, it will fly off. If I could just make time to get to the gym!

So, sorry for the babble, but I feel your pain! If you want to chat just drop me a line. I can moan with the best of them, and I can uplift and encourage too.

So, in conclusion, the BEST thing I did was hire the organizer. She has kept me accountable to keeping areas organized and tidy. even though I fall off the wagon sometimes, the thought process is still there. Good luck!

ps- sorry no spell check! it's not working!

Don't worry, i know EXACTLY how you feel. we've all been in that kind of situation. what you need to do is get away for a while from the daily grindstone. You know how they say variety is the spice of life? well it's true. take a holiday to somewhere you've never been. don't do any strenuous sight seeing or anything like that. just find a nice hotel and escape for a while. then you'll be able to go back to your life with a fresh mind. hope this helps and good luck!

Try st. john's wort for mild depression (no you don't have to feel down to be depressed) and switch your computer off. get drunk. dance. run. jion a class.

Me too :-( :-(
I've got my final exams in five days and havent yet touched my books, whereas back in high school I used to get 75%+

Supreme Procrastination - resulting from Laziness. You may have many problems and this laziness might be stopping you from doing some/all. All you have to do to overcome this is start doing something interesting - often reading a book (fiction/non-fiction) or doing some exercises/gym (Re-creational activities) which refreshes your mind and help increase focus. This way you start doing something interesting which makes you better satisfied and in turn increases your motivation to do all your delayed Work on a proper schedule.

Hope you be benefited with this info. Don't Kill Time ;) Kill sluggishness instead.
