What can you do to help relieve pain naturally for a teething infant?!

Question:
My infant is throwing up excessively and having a tough time sleeping. Please help me out!
Answers:
I used tea tree oil on my sons gums. Luckily their taste buds are not developed enough to mind it, but it works great just a drop on the finger rubbed on the gums will do it.

Other Answers:
Try small ice chips. Depending on age, start out by rubbing ice on the lips. If the baby is old enough let the baby suck on the ice chips.

I have used Hylands Teething Tablets for my son.he is currently cutting 3 of his top teeth. Those tablets seem to work like a charm. They are homeopathic too..i didn't want my son to be living on tylenol either. LOL If your baby likes the chilled teething rings i would recommend those.but my son hated them. We would let him gnaw at a cold full sized carrot, it was hard, there was no way he could bite through it, and it gave him some flavor. He LOVES carrot now too. :-)

put some alchohol (not rubbing alchohol) on your finger and give the baby some

I second the Hyland's Teething Tablets! You can get them at Wal Mart or your local pharmacy for about $5 to $7. Another thing that seemed to help my son (he just cut his bottom two front teeth) was to let him chew on an empty plastic pop bottle (supporvised of course). He loved playing with it and the plastic is still soft enough not to hurt him. I hope this helps!

I third those Hylands Homeopathic Teething Pellets! I just found it in a gel you rub on the gums! It really helps calm a baby down. It has chamomile and calcium in it I believe which naturally induce a calming effect. If your pharmacy doesn't have it, they should be able to order the stuff, mine did. Good luck!

The oldest remedy I know of for ANY tooth or mouth pain has always been clove oil. I don't know if it's effective for infants, but that's the only thing I use for my kids. Just dip a q-tip into the oil and rub it on the affected area, usually does the trick. I got the tip fom my dentist who uses gauze soaked in clove oil for impacted gums which are very painful. Good luck with that, makes me glad my kids are older, lol!

Teething and vomiting infant
It seems that you have two questions. I would consult a nutritionist, homeopathic physician or naturopathic physician, since they have mainly gentle solutions, especially for a baby.

1 Teething
For teething you may want to try Hypericum Perforatum, the homeopathic form of St. John's Worth; or, the wonderful homeopathic teething remedy; both are nontoxic and non addictive (health food store).

For an infant I would use one pill (milk sugar basis), or one pill each, on 1/2 ounce of purified water in a dropper bottle. Make fresh every day. Wet lips with a drop of the mixture or place one drop in the mouth if proper to do.

Repeat about every 5 minutes until the pain starts to get better, then less and less often. When better, may be three times a day.

2 Vomiting
This may have many reasons.

The food may be too cold.

May be the food is too heavy: meat, chicken etc. mixed in, resulting in an unfavorable food combination. Such food is highly acid-forming.

You may want to measure the urine and saliva of your baby with a roll of pH paper from a health food store. The pH should be 7.5 at all times, in my understanding. See if your baby is too acid (under 7).

There may also be pesticides and herbicides in the food, preservatives and other chemicals.

You may want to try vegetarian or vegan food, made from fresh, organic vegetables and fruit. Cheese causes a running nose in small children, since the body obviously wants to get rid of the cheese. The running nose lasts until the body is too numbed to throw it out. Today's cheese is likely to contain hydrogenated fats, which can hardly be broken down by the body (digested) and may accumulate in lumps (which then may be called "cancer" as happened to a woman I know).

Example: A baby girl threw up and could not hold down food. The hospital gave up the baby. Yet, her mother fed her a little bit of healthy, organic, fresh food every two hours, day and night, because the baby's stomach could not hold more. The baby got mother's milk, carrot juice and freshly made food. The baby survived and now is a healthy woman. Dinshah Color MedicineTM was not known to the mother.

If your baby likes it, may be warm chamomile tea with a little brown sugar may help.

Dinshah Color MedicineTM is very gentle but effective in changing life energy to the better. It is working with the speed of light, literally.

Main Pain Color: Dinshah Indigo; sometimes Purple. With cramps, Orange.

Babies often enjoy the color needed and would relax more after some time. Or, if it is not the right color given, babies may get restless or try to get away from the colored shine. Most babies love these colors.

There are 12 Dinshah color filters (gels). One at a time is placed in a self-made filter holder, which is taped to an ordinary reading lamp so that the colored light can shine on the skin. Dinshah Lemon detoxifies, Turquoise helps heal wounds, Indigo helps many kinds of pain and diarrhea, Green builds muscles and neutralizes mild acidity, etc. The blue and darker colors help to relax and sleep more restful, the warm, brighter colors build, help detoxify and stimulate. Inflammation would need Blue. Books (Internet, book store) and a home-study course (www.biochakra.com) are available.

Also Bachflowers may help your baby. Dr. Bach helped people to heal their emotions and their body with his flower remedies. There are books and lists available to find the correct Bachflower needed.

See what your gentle health practitioner indicates.

Wishing you a happy baby - and the baby a happy, healthy childhood.

teething tablets are wonderful they are not FDA approved but my baby and my friends kids have all used them (alot) and have had no side effects. You could also try a very cold wash cloth that works good to (it works better if the baby will let you massage the gums with it) If you try the tablets and they dont work call your babies docter something else could be wrong.

And goodness goodluck i know what your going through. But trust me and the other people that have suggested these teething tablets they are great.
one more thing you can get the teething tablets from walmart you dont have to go to a health food store.
