Why do people say 'God Bless you' everytime you sneeze?!

Question:

Answers:
BECAUSE IN THE OLD TIMES THEY SAY PEOPLE DIED FROM SNEEZING SO MUCH YOU'RE HEART STOPS THAT SECOND

Other Answers:
Just manners- don't know why

it's to be polite but i'm not quite sure why they say that. it gets annoying.

because your heart stops beating

It's better than saying, "STFU!"

It was once believed that when you sneeze your soul/spirit is briefly expelled from your body, so people say Bless you to provide security to the soul while it is outside of your body. Seriously!

This is what I found though:
The custom of saying "God bless you" after a sneeze was begun literally as a blessing. Pope Gregory the Great (540-604 AD) ascended to the Papacy just in time for the start of the plague (his successor succumbed to it). Gregory (who also invented the ever-popular Gregorian chant) called for litanies, processions and unceasing prayer for God's help and intercession. Columns marched through the streets chanting, "Kyrie Eleison" (Greek for "Lord have mercy"). When someone sneezed, they were immediately blessed ("God bless you!") in the hope that they would not subsequently develop the plague.

Before the advent of modern medicine, particularly antibiotics, a sneeze could portend a serious disease. For example people who died of pneumonic plague usually did so in a burst of sneezes. So by invoking god to give a blessing people, people are hoping that you recover

it is a old saying; because it means you have germs or dust in you

they would say god bless you to get rid of those germs and dust

becuz it is/was believed that wen u sneeze, your heart skips a beat. by saying "God Bless You" it protects from any physical ailment as a result from that stress.

It goes way back to the Bible. In spanish we say "salud" to wish that person good health.

Hundreds of years ago people believed that when a person sneezed it released possibly evil spirits from their bodies and/or that during the sneeze bad spirits could enter the body.A lot of illnesses were thought to be caused by evil spirits so "god bless you" was a way to insure that the spirits would not return and also as a way to let the person know that you care about their health and well being.

I was taught the reason behind this was that centurys ago when the plague was rife in london a sign of it was sneezing so if a person did sneeze near by passersby would say "may god bless you" believing that the person that sneezed was about to pass away.
