how do you deal with ocd?!

Question:

As one who has it or one who has to live with an OCD person?

If you mean someone who has it. I would suggest the most important thing is to admit it. There are books on the subject that would probably help. Get counseling. Join a support group. Start behavioral therapy. If needed, there's medication to help.

It seems to be a disorder that has a wide range, so it may depend on how strongly you exhibit those tendencies. Are they just embarrassing? Are they keeping you from living a normal life (interferring with work, personal relationships?)

great site about tips on handling OCD. remember OCD is an anxiety disorder and people with OCD hae a thought pattern that only tends to increase anxiety and make thoughts stronger. Solution to it is to confront the thought and say, oko come on Im ready, gie it the best you can and not to shy away from it or figure out numerous answers about why you feel that way. remember you cannot outlogic OCD thoughts, best way is to say ' come on, give me your worst thought and Ill handle it' confront it and youll see a remarkable change. Good luck and try to rely on CBT more than meds, cause meds can really screw up.
