I am thinking of quitting my job and opting for COBRA. How much would this cost!

Question:

Answers:
My Mother Had COBRA, she ended up paying about $300.00 (american dollars) per month. She did have very good insurance though. I am not sure if it depends on how great your insurance was before..

Other Answers:
assume that if you are single COBRA will run at least 3 times your current premium. if you are covering a family assume that COBRA will run at least 7 times your current premium. Most companies (at least big ones) cover between 60 to 90% of the costs of health insurance.

depends on the coverage you get and for how many people. Call em up and ask

it cost me $979.23 per month.

Prolly double what you are paying now.as your employer does not have to contribute to COBRA coverage, or even more. Not too sure if COBRA will kick in if you quit like it will if you are fired or laid off?

It's different for each insurance. Contact your insurance company to find out. When I quit my job I had Aetna and COBRA was only available for 6months after I quit. So you might want to also check into that as well if your concerned with not having insurance and you like the current provider you have. Otherwise you could always check different insurance providers websites to see how much individual coverage would be. I know that Aetna offers it and it wasn't too much.
