Girls are genetically meant to have babies.
In order to do this, they release eggs (very tiny) inside their tummies. If they had sex with a man, and he relased his sperm inside her, and the sperm and egg unite, she becomes pregnant.
If ALL of the above does not happen, she does not become pregnant. The egg is washed away.
Now, her body is always getting ready to become pregnant. When she is about to release her egg (from her ovary), her womb (uterus) gets thicker with tissue and blood.to help support the baby. If she does not get pregnant, she gets rid of that excess tissue and blood.aka her period.
As she released about 1 egg a month (give or take), she has a period about once a month.
