I used work in a doctor's office and he used to prescribe this to many patients. I haven't heard any incidents of death while taking this.

If you drink enough water it can cause death.

Lipitor is generally a pretty safe medication, especially at dosages of 40mg and below. If you require a higher dose then more side effects can present - the most common and troublesome is muscle aches. Usually not dangerous but makes people feel bad. There is a version called rhabdomyoslysis which is serious and very rare.

.if you are have elevated liver enzymes or muscle aches then consider Crestor - which is more potent and uses a different metabolism pathway which some people tolerate better.

Now how about if you don't take the medication.heart attacks and stroke most definitely result in significant disability and death. When faced with the possibility of a few side effects verses the certainty of fatal disease.well, you decide.

I know there will be at least one person who tells you Lipitor is worse than rat poison, stay away!! I deal with heart disease every day and can attest to dramatically improved situations in people who are taking these medications. I seriously doubt those who preach against such medications have any direct personal patient experience (those with serious heart disease) with such matters.

Good luck.
