Can you ever wear black and brown together?!

I think it can work sometimes. For example, black dress pants and a smart brown shirt. What do you think? Fashion faux pas or nice look? Tips on how to pull it off?

I think it's fine, but may be a bit too dull. I would add a bright colour belt or scarf with the outfit. Otherwise, I would suggest a beige pants/skirt with the brown shirt and light coloured top for the black pants. Have fun! :)

Black and khaki is better, very classy, I think and I wear it all the time.
I've seen many black and brown combinations. It does depend on the brown. Chocolate or dark brown doesn't seem to fit but a lighter caramel brown as does a taupe colour seem to fit at times. It's hit and miss and I don't think there's any specific rule to follow. Black and brown is all the rage in decorating at present.
black & brown are both nutural colors so yes, they will go together. The only thing I wouldn't do is wear brown shoes w/ black pants. to me that looks kinda tacky. But black shoes w/ brown pants is ok.
Sure you can wear any colors you want together. Forget all the stupid rules about how "you shouldn't wear black and brown together" and "no white after labor day". That is really dumb, and I don't know any woman who actually follows those stupid rules anyway.
i think it looks sophisticated. red and purple on the other hand is a big NO.
i think it is fine, just as long as the colors arent competing. like dont wear a black belt with brown shoes. i think what you are describing is fine (at least i hope so cause i wear stuff like that)
