i am trying to attend alanon-meetings (for living with an alcoholic) and i have some problems with their high focus on giving all the powers to a God. anybody who wanna help me in convincing me or the oposite, pls message me, if u feel we can talk.

It is good to hear you are going to al-anon as someone you care about has a problem. In the BIG BOOK there is a chapter to the AGNOSTIC which you should read, I believe GOD gave me the power to quit drinking (6years) but many of my cohorts were brought here by a HIGHER POWER not GOD. A higher power could be considered anything you want call it, Fate, Karma whatever it is it brough them here for a reason and that reason is that we have a drinking problem and are not afraid to admit it. Living with an alchoholic is very hard and I applaud your efforts for recognizing this by attending meetings with al-anon. Good luck.
