What do you do when you are stuck in bed after knee surgery?!

Question:
I'm about to have knee surgery, and I'm afraid I'll be extremely bored with all the hours I have to spend propping up my knee afterwards. Have any ideas of how I can pass the time?
Answers:
put your makeup and mirror, curling iron and other fun things near your bed and each day experiment with new ways to wear your makeup and styling your hair. It will boost your esteem. Keep positive thoughts and work puzzles. You can also subscribe to the local newspaperand stay up to date on the days current events so when you return to work or school your conversations will be more stimulating. Good Luck

Bring a laptop and go on youqa.cn or something.
Or, read a book.

Oh sorry hear to that!! Maybe you can listen to music, play games on a laptop, read, play on a hand held console, watch tv. Good luck with your knee surgery!!

Learn to knit! It's actually how I quit smoking several years ago. You'll learn to do something to not only pass the time, but feed your creative urges, and make some really cool things! Buy the book Stitch and B!tch or google 'learn to knit'. You'll be glad you did--I can't get enough, and I've been knitting for about 8 years now.

you can read, look at tv, talk on the telephone, if you have laptop you can get on the net.

Well after you finish being thankful that it wasn't anything more serious.Get a selection of DVD's, read, play on the computer, talk on the phone, knit, write a poem, make goals, write a letter, do string tricks, play solitare, play video games, crossword puzzles, etc..Hope you are up and at em soon.

Don't be so sure they are going to keep you in bed. These days they do a LOT of therapy.

I had knee surgery a couple of years OK, and was extremely bored. I found I couldn't read because i couldn't really concentrate due to the meds. Recently I was really sick for several days, stuck in bed. My son brought in DVDs and I watched DVDs when I needed to do something other than sleep, and that really helped. So my recommendation is choose some movies or something you haven't seen yet and watch them.

Get a PlayStation and some games and play them, write a book, read the bible, contemplate life, Get in fellowship God and prey about those you love

Well, I got my leg run over, so I had no time to plan it first. What I did was sew like crazy! I made lots of quilts, walker bags, & scarves. Then, once I could walk a short distance (without a cane or crutches), I gave them all away to nursing homes. Doing most any craft would be a good use of your time. Maybe cross-stitch or knitting would be good for you to do.

Make sure all the remotes surround you on your bed, TV, stereo, upright fan ,DVD player, etc. Make sure computer is wheeled close enough so you can put everyone on-line,at least vicariously, through what you're going through. Oh yeah, plug in the web cam so they can really feel your pain.Get GOOD crutches, not those ones that are way too tall for you. A loud bell bed-side, no that's probably too much. Anyway hope your a reader,'cause you'll really be able to catch up on the books!

Research and learn about something you've always been curious about but never had the time for.
