why do we have fears? why do we care?!

Question:
why?
Answers:
Not looking at the other responses I shall answer in this manner: Our fears have been introduced to us as young children, by our parents. We learn by what we see, touch and hear. As we grow older we interpret fear from incidences as they are presented to us. Then we compare those fears with our early childhood examples versus our adult mentality. Now, we care about what frightens us, as that which we fear makes us vulnerable. That is why when trouble is near we run. So why do we have fears? Because of early teachings and recognition of those fears.

Other Answers:
Because ultimately it is a tough society. Nobody wants to be perceived as weak. Because who wants a weak friend, boss, or husband? We are scared we will be ostracized and not be able to continue our line.

Well we have fears because they are necessary for survival as human beings (fear of fire, fear of heights, fear of being stabbed in a dark alleyway, etc)

We care about things because God gave us compassion, which we also need for survival.

Evolution. Necessary for survival to fear harmful things and situations.

Chimps go crazy when a snake is near them (ophidiophobic).

Fear (when not really 'indicated' by the dangerousness of a situation) is usually the result of an imbalanced perspective. It results from only 'seeing' the potential negatives or exaggerating the potential negatives associated with the situation.

In reality, life is balanced and every situation has both positives and negatives. If we choose to only 'see' the negatives and ignore the balancing positives, we can create unjustified but very real 'fear'.

Best wishes.

We care because we have a survival mechanism, and an extension of that is the mechanism that seeks to prevent ourselves from being harmed. Fear is part of that self-protection.

Sometimes those fears are unfounded, at least realistically, but that's another story.

Natural Instinct

fears are an inherent response that in the past, protected humans from danger like eating poison plants or dangerous animals. Now, we have fears that are not rational, because fear is ingrained in us through the process of natural selection.

we are afraid because we know possibilities of danger or we are not sure of the outcome. we become afraid when we have experienced something or we saw someone else experience it and the result was not pleasing. we become afraid because of pessimistic thoughts.

we have fears because it is to alert us of something, something dangerous and that we should go as far away as we can. we care about it cause we all have different fears, one might be afraid of spiders, but another might not be afraid of them but cause them wussies, but then they would be afraid of something else that the other person wouldnt be afraid of. scientists have found genes that produce fear in hamsters and mice, that, when taken out, they show no fear even if the scientists put a snake in front of them.

i think we are all afraid of something even if we havent realized it yet. that is me.
