High Risk Insurance?!

Question:
My husband has systemic lupus and cannot find health insurance company who is willing to insure him
Answers:
Depending on what state you are in, there may be a high risk pool administered by your state. Contact your state's Department of Human Services or other organization. A high risk pool is great for people who are going to have very high medical bills, but you will have to pay premiums which are likely going to be much higher than if you were healthy.
You might also shop around for "short-term" medical insurance. Insurers are more willing to write people who may be sick under those short term policies because the insurers knows a date certain that they will no longer be responsible.

Other Answers:
Ah, that is because systemic lupus is almost always deadly. Go to your local health department and apply for federal aid; medicare, medicaid, etc. You CAN get a high risk policy but it will cost you a bloody fortune if you try to purchase one. Try for federally funded assistance. It is out there. If you do not qualify, you will be referred to policies and health plans that will cover you.
