can anyone recomend a good skin wash for acne?!

Question:
or maybe just some tips
Answers:
Acne is infected skin. If you have it really bad, go to your doctor and he'll be able to prescribe you either a cream, or a pill. If it's bad enough he might refer you to a dermatologist who might freeze off the infected skin.

What I reccomend you do is this:
- Drink loads of water.
- Go on a fruit diet for a week, and eat only fruit, as this will clear your skin up amazingly
- Don't eat alot of junkfood or fried foods, make good healthy choices.
- Take Niacin, and Flaxseed oil
- If you pick at your face, limit yourself to five minutes a week
- Make sure that you take a good multi-vitamin

Read "How to Wash Your Face" at your local library -- it's a great book and will help you understand your face so much better.

The links are to products I reccomend.

If you're take Evening Primrose Oil -- it's good for pretty much everything in your whole body.

If you have Normal-Oily skin, try Neutrogena's Oil Free Acne Wash with 2% salicylic acid, or, if you have Normal-Dry skin, try Aveeno's Clear Complexion facial cleanser with 0.5% salicylic acid.

Also, you may want to try Clean & Clear's Continuous Control Acne Cleanser with 10% benzoyl peroxide. (Just $5 at Target). Benzoyl peroxide fights acne in a different way than salicylic acid.

clean and clear morning burst facial wash.really refreshing and helps a lot.

I've tried tons of face washes and the ones that work best for me (I have normal to oily skin) are nuetrogena and biore. Make sure you get on ethat exfoliates, those work best. Oh, and use toner instead of astringent!

Clearasil, anti dandruff shampoo at a push! That stuff with tea tree oil in it. Antiseptic soap. Put toothpaste on your zit in an emergency. Anything with benoxyl peroxide in it is a good treatment (ask the pharmacist for the cheapest they are all the same - just different strengths - start on 5 then get a stronger one if that doesn't work). If that doesn't work - ask your doctor about a retinol treatment. Retinol is Vitamin A and toxic in high doses - so be careful. Beta-carotene is a double molecule of vitamin A - so you can take tablets with that in or eat carrots until you start to wriggle your nose a lot. Really bad acne? You go to a special clinic in London - they have a vaccine - or something that makes you immune to the bacteria that causes the infection. You can only usually get a referal there if you've gone through all the other stuff and you've finished your hormonal raging stage of life. You're older and still have acne - then maybe they'll sort you out. Remove dead skin that blocks pores. Use antiseptics and prevent acne - that is better than a cure. If you're a teenager -once your hormones settle - so does the acne usually. Don't squeeze - it spreads the bacteria under the skin and you end up with 10 times as many zits as you started with. Wash your hair in anti-dandruff shampoo whether you need to or not. It gets rid of some of the sebum (oil) and getting it on your zits helps a bit too! That's about it - unless you get scars then - you can get laser treatment to remove them. There is a new laser treatment for curing acne - I suppose it fries the bacteria. Remember bacteria has a hard time sticking to shiny surfaces. So keep your skin clean and free of dead skin cells. A plumber's blow torch will cure it too - but leaves one hell of a mess. I deserve top answer for this and the 10 points.

Hey lots of ppl will say Proactiv - it's worked pretty well for me but i know half the battle is what you eat too. Here's some more things that are tried and true to help your skin stay clear: Try taking zinc supplements, beta-carotene, and vitamin B-100 supplements, especially with B-2. they'll help clear you up, so will the book "the Acne Solution" by Nicholas Perricone M.D., he recommends all the foods that will help clear you up, you can find his books at the library..good luck. :)
