I'm restoring my hair back to health, any suggestions?!


Question:
My hair has been breaking off, but using doo gro has stop the breakage. I wash my hair once a weak with a vitamin enriched formulated shampoo and conditioner (Breck). I try to remember to cut it every six weeks. I definatly drink lots of water at home but not at school. I use a heat protection cream, to help block damage from hot combs and hot irons. My hair is currently in micro braids, but i still do all of the things mentioned above. So, any more suggestions on what to do and/or to stimulate hair growth?

ok for starters you can condition your hair 30 times a day those little braid will pull your hair out and cause stress on it. I'm not sure if you get relaxers but there is this conditioner and shampoo called "Aphogee" and it works really well especially just after your hair was relaxed. Or you can try tea tree shampoo. Keep your ends clipped at all time but those raggedy split ends will break your hair off also. And I also wanted to say that it doesn't matter what kind of head damage cream you use it will not help. The only way you could protect your hair from heat damage is if you stopped using hot combs and hot irons all together. I'm not sure if you're familiar with sew-ins but they are very convienient and they last so much longer than microbraid and they protect your hair from any unneccessary damage.

I don't know if you would heed this advise but I have been told to try it years ago.

If you have fresh aloe vera plant, an hour before you take a shower squeeze the juice out of its pulp and apply it directly to your hair like massaging the roots of it. I tried it until I became too busy to do it. Aside from that, I'm even learning from you.

Apply oil regularly in your hair! Most people apply coconut oil but some even put mustard oil. Massage the oil in your scalp for atleast 20 mins, it will help stimulating and increasing the blood flow to your hair roots. Keep the oil for 30 - 60mins before showering. It should help to increase your hair length and strengthen them.
Try not to get too many hairstyling procedures done to your hair, like colouring, straightening as they weaken the hair.
A healthy diet reflects on your hair and skin.
