Anyone got a good remedy for hiccups??!

Question:
I can't get rid of them!! AHHHHH!
Answers:
This really works. Hold a pencil in your mouth, horizontally. The pencil will stick out of either side of your mouth. While biting down (not hard, just enough to hold the pencil in place), take a drink of water. It's kinda tricky, but it works really fast!

Other Answers:
Hold your breath for 30 seconds

Pour yourself a cup of water. then somehow drink the water with your head upside down(that's the hard part.) Do this a few times and your hiccups may be a thing of the past.

life and a whole bunch of hiccups

1. hyperventilate.

2. breathe deeply in/out of paper lunch sack.

I saw a doctor on a talk show once who was talking about various ways to stop them. There are two that I remember. One, if you are having hiccups because of an irritation to something you ate, etc is to swallow a spoonful of white sugar slowly. Really let it dissolve and coat your throat. If your hiccups are more of a muscle spasm you can stick your tounge out as far as you can and push down VERY hard on the the back. I have not had hiccups since I have learned this so fill me in if it works!

some random doctor on some even more random tv show

My daughter gets the hiccups allll the time , I make her drink water and also I sometimes scare her . They both work for her !

this always stops mine, 1 glass of water
1 very deep breath
concentrate on counting gulps of
water, counting each one to 10 gulps, let go of breath, hiccups should be gone.

my child learned it somewhere and told me to do it as a small child (elementry school) she was right:)

I learned this from my wife who is a nurse and it works extemely well. Close both eyelids and, using your fingers, put moderate pressure on your eyelids in the middle where the pupil is. Press moderately hard for 15-30 seconds or so. I hold my breath at the same time but it is the pressure on the eyelids that does it. It is a pressure point for some reason that works extremely well. And you can do it anywhere. Try it!
