This is assuming you are also tall and proportionate and your waist is thinner than your hips and chest. In order to show off the ring, you'll have to show the belly too. Are you willing to show it? If you're not confident of your belly as a main attraction, I think it'll just look kind of silly. Of course it's your body and you can do whatever you want. Oh I hear they also get infected. That would be just plain ol' nasty.

Barring the obvious, it is okay to do whatever makes you happy. If you're doing it for yourself, which is the only reason you should do anything to your body, what's the dilemma? I worked in a piercing shop for a while and I know that there are shops that will tell you that the ring will push itself out or that the piercing won't work because the belly button is too deep and thus the piercing will be too deep, but rejection is a risk for any piercing in any body. Your jewelry options may be limited to simple stainless steel rings with a large diameter and I would recommend getting pierced with at least a 14 gauge needle (and 14 gauge stainless still ring). Keep your piecing clean but know that infection in the navel is common. Enjoy!

Honestly, if you want it get it, it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks, whether or not it looks good just depends on your size, just because someone weighs a certain amount doesnt mean that they are fat just depends on how much of it is fat and where it is.
Ok you know what i did it and i weighed about 180 but if you are looking to loose weight then i sigjest that you wait because as you lose your stomach will move and i found out after losing about 40lbs it will no longer a belly button ring but a midbelly ring and even if you you get it now and take it out before that happens you may have scars or worse scare tissue which hurts to get it peirced again.. THis is just my own experience. I say that if you want to get one why not you should love your body just dont do it for the wrong reasons. Also it doesnt hurt too bad remember just relax and breathe.

It honestly doesnt matter if you are a bit heavy, the average for an American woman is a size 14 and if you are a bit above that then the only thing that matters is that you love the skin you're in.
