what can i do with my sons hair?!

Question:
i have a biracial son with very curly hair, he has his dads hair. what can i do with it so that is manageble and he still looks like a boy i don't want to cut it
Answers:
my son is the same way. omg its a main issue between us. more you cut much thicker it gets or it seems to be w/ my son hair. i always had saved after it to long and i always hate to b/c i love his curls. but now that he is 10 he has his own style. he letting it grow out. but the reason we have issue about its b/c he doesn't keep up w/ the grooming. i do it once a week and brush it all out and moisturizer, and i also use on him called silk elements for extra dry hair. works great and its not greasy which i love too. i got it at sally's and it cost 2.49. its a 4 oz bottle but it last for a long time. lil bit goes along way. you can ask them for their opinion about diff product but i found out this works the best for me. however i have told my son couple of months ago if he doesn't want to care of it b/c it can get into big nasty knots if he don't, then i will shave it all off if he don't. so far he getting alot better at it. i just love his curls and i play w/ it all the time too lol. you don't have to cut unless you really have to. just take good care of it. you can do other things to it if you want. email if you like. trust its a battle but its part of them and also their self esteem. just like us if we had long hair and your parents want to chop it to your ears. just keep it clean.

You really should just cut it. There are several products and resourced for hair. Take him to a baber shop or black hair salon, they can tell best once they have had a chance to look at it.

whats his age?

maybe get his hair professionally braided. try taking him to the salon/barber and get their opinion, they will be able to refer you to some products that will help maintain is mane.

I suggest you cut it.it could get really annoying.

I concur. Why should his hair be long and unruly? Think of whats best for your son. A matted and dry afro will lead to nothing but stares and taunts from other kids. Take him to a black or hispanic barber shop for a nice cut. If he is too young for a cut, trim with scissors at home, or get it braided at a black salon.

CUT that little childs' Cut it, cut, it cut it cut, cut, cut, cut, cut,it all off so that on a hot summers' day your son can enjoy the suns' brilliant rays on his precious little head.

You son is so blessed.

I would take him to the barber and ask if he is really young I would just have it cut really short if he is older ask him for his advice the only problem if you let it grow out too long just take him to the barber and get it cut.
