Question:
I am askin for the chance of my child to have NF1 and also the for the chance cafe au lait. i need the % on each one. I have cafe au lait and NF1, my spouse has neither one

I suggest you ask your physician to refer you to a Geneticist, or you might find good info at the following:
http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/neurofibromatosis/neurofibromatosis.htm scroll down and you'll find more links.
http://neurosurgery.mgh.harvard.edu/NFR/ this is a Harvard/MGH site scroll down and you'll find a Genetics link.
I don't think you are going to get an expert opinion on youqa.cn. Hope you realize that most people just Google this stuff and aren't geneticists. This question is "hard to understand" because MOST people have never heard of Neurofibromatosis or von Recklinghausen's disease. And of course you'll get stupid answers.look who you are asking!

They don't know what it is. So they assume they're brilliant and you're an idiot.
Cafe au late is a symptom of NF1.
Ask your doctor about how it is passed on.
Also, try this website http://www.understandingnf1.org/id/int_id_win.html
not sure what that means or what it says.

Cafe au leit is a symptom of NF1, although many people have them without having NF1. As for the disease itself, you have a 50% chance to pass it on to your offspring, regardless of the status of your spouse.
If your child only got the cafe au lait spots, it would be enough to diagnose them since they are your first degree relative as well. That would be the two criteria for the clinical diagnosis. Therefore, it would remain a 50% chance either way. 95% of people with NF have the spots.
