Answers:
Your lymph nodes swell because they are fighting infections or the flu. Your doctor knows best, and if he said not to worry about them, then don't. I get swollen lymph nodes in my neck just before I get a cold or the flu. I hope you feel better!

Other Answers:
Lymphadenopathy is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Other causes include allergic reactions, arthritis, cancer, metabolic diseases, and an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).

Lymph nodes are normal, I think they help with andrenaline or the salivary glands, but they can get swollen if you have a cold or the flu.

ur body is probably jst fighting off a minor infection. (aka ur trying not to get sick) its probably wont hurt u but if they get bigger and u feel ill u may want to talk to ur doctor again

If you have already been to the doctor and he says not to worry I wouldn't worry. Your lymph nodes swell slighty with many minor illnesses. If you can't stop worrying get a second opinion.see another doctor.

It is your body fighting infection. But, your doc should have taken blood to be sure.

I have them under my arms some times. They can be a little tender too. I don't know about the neck, but the ones under my arms never fully retracted which he said could happen.

well am afraid it may be T.B. . cozz few months bac my frend too suffered frm swollen lymph and after doing some tests in pathology lab they said that its tb..so i recommend u to go for check up once..don worry u will b alright. just go for a routine check up

A swollen lymph gland is generally a sign of an infection. It is common with an infected sore throat common with a severe cold. If this continues or is painful consult your doctor.

nothing to worry about, i often get swallen lymph nodes when Im sick

Yes, as you can see they do swell when you are sick - but can also be caused by something more serious. I just went to the doctor because of the same thing and they actually did a blood test to rule out cancer - unfortunately, I was diagnosed as anemic and now they are trying to find out why. My suggetion is not to chance it - get it checked. Good luck.

They could be due to a number of different causes. Folks here have already given you a range of possibilities - although, I'm not sure how helpful such suggestions (including my own) really are in the sense that you would still need to relay on your doctor (and/or a second opinion) for the final diagnosis and treatment should they prove to be persistent and bothersome. … HAVING SAID THAT, let me just add in my two cents worth (and help put your mind at ease a little) by saying that I suffer from the very same condition every time I develop a canker sore in my mouth due to the consumption of highly acidic and/or abrasive foods (e.g. orange juice, pineapple juice, raw nuts, sour yogurt, diary-based products, etc.) You might in fact be suffering from the same ailment - a bit uncomfortable but essentially not a big deal at all, especially since you are an otherwise healthy individual. Discuss this idea with your doctor before worrying yourself to death about the possibility of potentially more serious underlying reasons/causes. When in doubt, it's always good to get a second medical opinion as well. Hope you feel better.

It might be a sign of infection. Sinnusitis, tooth infection, lung problems, etc. It might even be a sebaceous cysts that you don't have to worry about. The best thing is to really go to a doctor. Don't be afraid :-)
