What is the difference between an eye exam for contact lenses and an eye exam fo!

Question:
Why can't I just get one exam for both?
Answers:
Eye exam for contact lenses includes the measurement of your eye specifically for the contact lens. Everyones eyes are different in shape and size, eventough they might look the same they are not. Everyone's steepness is different and diameter is different that is why the doctor has to do additional measuring. They also put a contact on your lens, and evaluate the movement and the health of your eye w/the contact lens on. You also come back after a week and they evaluate your progress of wearing the contact lens, which also includes to see if your eyes are healthy and also to see if the contact lens is appropriate.
You can get the exam for both you just have to ask, but be prepared to pay more for the contact lens exam since the doctor is doing more measuring and spending more time w/you.
You might think its unfair, and it is more expensive, and some insurances dont cover it, but believe me, being a student and having to go through 8 gruelling years of hell, you will understand why they charge you.
Enjoy your contacts!!

To find out shape of eyes for contacts.

The contact lens exam includes some extras that you don't get in the glasses exam. The doctor will measure the curvature of the front of your eye and has to evaluate the fit of the lens on your eye.
