Answers:
It may be a vagus nerve disorder rather than cardiac. Go to the internet and read about vaso-vagal fainting to find further information.

"Syncope (fainting) may occur during violent coughing spells (especially in men) because of rapid changes in blood pressure."

You should definitely see a neurologist and/or a cardiologist who will most likely recomment a "tilt table test" which can tell you if you have NMS (neurally mediated syncope) or POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome).

Good luck, and if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here. I had the tilt table test recently and failed, I am awaiting my diagnosis which I believe will be POTS. It can be scary, but others have been through the same thing, so don't worry :)

The first website below talks about fainting while coughing, etc. The second talks about the "tilt table test".
