I have been through the same thing. I go through periods of this. I don't think you have a problem yet but it's good that you are so in tune with your body and what your mind is craving. That's sadly how alcoholism starts I think, when you ignore those signs.

I've noticed personally, that I tend to want to drink when there is pressure. Whether it is stress related or people around me are drinking. Sometimes even when I'm bored or if I got into a routine of it. The way I've been dealing with it is limiting myself to only weekends.

I used to do this and ended up downing a bottle of vodka and blacking out for a few months. Once I realized I hadn't fixed the problem much, I started only allowing myself a 1/2 pint on the weekends. I found that it was still hard to stop once I started.

Now I allow myself 2-3 hard drinks on the weekends when I feel like it but I mostly try to stick with wine or light beer. My problem is wanting more once I have a good buzz going. I found that by setting rules for yourself and only allowing a certain quantity on hand, it much easier to fight off cravings. Once you start to break those rules, then maybe it's time to go to an AA meeting or talk to someone about it.

Good luck; everything in moderation.

I would. Having a drinking problem is when you feel that you NEED a drink. Wanting a drink once in a while is one thing, but craving or feeling you NEED a drink is another. I would seek help now, while you still have some control over it. Otherwise it could take over and ruin your life.

Hi there, and first of all well done for admitting that you even may have a problem. I know that traditionally the hardest step is admitting that there IS a problem, but by looking before something gets to that stage you can more easily examie yourself and find a solution if you deem one necessary. Anyway, I digress.
I'd like to breifly explain my own experiences with drink - I freely admit I used to be an alcoholic. For me there were two things that defined that:
1. I would always drink, every day (it was like a ritual). If I was on my own, I would still drink.
2. I could never find a sensible 'place' to stop, so I would always over drink.
Now, for me, that meant that I had a problem. It doesn't sound like you've reached that sort of level yet, but remember - it's only you who knows your drinking patterns well enough to know if you have a real problem or not.

when ya wake up tied to a tree with a carrot stuck up ya butt

yes if you are having cravings then something needs to be done but don't worry your self it will only make it worse. A lot of people are in your position but don't take that step to come out about it. I hope you find the help you need and also the support you need. Good Luck!

When the drinking begins to effect all parts of your life. When you are unable to function without it or only feel at easy after having it. It is kinda of like an addiction which can be psychical and mental. From what you said I feel as if there is a problem there and I hope you receive help.

when you have to ask people online if you have a problem.
