What happens in a dermatology exam?!

Question:

Answers:
You should have your entire body inspected by the doctor. They will freeze some pre Cancerous spots and if they suspect a suspicious growth or spot , They may do a biopsy to see if it is malignant. I have been examined several times and its a piece of cake. Let on go too far and it was not pleasant at all. I had to have major surgery on my right ear. & years and it is still o.k. It they want to perform surgery (moes surgery) , I would get a second opinion. I had one that was not malignant but the first DR. wanted to operate. NO big deal unless you put it off too long. Then ??Could die.

The doctor looks closely at your skin, that's all.

No pain involved. Doctor looks at your skin & assesses the situation. May prescribe ointment/cream if necessary.

The doctor will inspect your skin.

A major focus will be your face, since this is the part of you that's exposed to the sun most often. However, they'll probably be interested in other parts of your skin, as well. I assume they'll ask you if you're having any particular problems, at which time, you should be completely honest and show them anything that's concerning you.

That's pretty much it.

Depending on the reason for the visit. Depending on what type of treatment. A close look at the skin, a blood draw to check and make sure the levels are normal. If there is something on the skin that looks odd, might scrape off a piece for evaluation.
