Is there anything you can do for a really bad sun burn other then aloe vera?!

Question:

First the aloe vera. Then lots of moisturizing lotion all day long!! (Usually helps the burn turn to tan faster than just using aloe vera too.) Depending on what kind of lotion you use, it may make your skin look a little greasy. But its so much better than having dry, cracked, aching skin for a few days. Take special attention to putting lots of lotion on your face. It helps ease the pain (along with aloe vera) and keeps it from feeling tight every time you talk or open your mouth. Sun burns suck.hope you get better!

there's a banana boat lotion with aloe vera and vitamin e in it, and we've always had good luck with it at my house. Noxema will take the sting out. and of course, some tylenol.

you can take asprin! it really works.

My husband took a small hand towel and ran it up cold water, rung it out and laid it on my back, then shoulders and so on.It helps to draw out the heat..and it felt GOOOOOOOOOOD!

a mixture of tea and water in spray bottle, i know sounds weird but works

La Mer from Neiman Marcus but it is really really expensive. Also Noxmea helps take some of the sting out..its temporary though!

Keep your skin moisturized. Try the BB lotion, (I used aloe vera gel)but constantly put it on. Since my skin stayed moisturized, it didn't peel at all.

moisturizing cream from Dior is amazing.
Cheaper, BIAFINE works VERY well.
cold baths as well are temporarily good.

Most important, take it as a lesson and put cream next time

You can buy aloe with lidocaine in it, but I find that the stickiness and the drying of the aloe almost makes my burn more painful. I just went through this last week (forgot my sunscreen - duh) and remembered that Gold Bond Powder had helped in the past. It takes the heat out and takes the pain away somewhat. I also took an allergy pill (alavert) because the stinging itch is what really gets to me. I still had a few water blisters and peeling, but it was bearable with the powder and allergy medication. Hope this helps!

take part white vinger and cold water. Drench towel in mixture and place on burn. This will help draw out the heat and pain..Smell is not great but it helps then remember to put aloe lotion on afterwards

The best thing is to see your Dr. When i had my radiation treatments, i ended up with badly burnt skin and the onocolgist recommended using olive oil on my skin.

When I was little, my mom used to put straight vinegar on mine. It stunk to high heaven, but it worked.

stay out of the sun and take a cool bath with white vingar mixed in the water. It pulls the heat out

This will sound weird but cut a tomato in half and rub on the burn for 5-10 min. It really works.
