it is usually most effective if the scar is still fresh, after it has healed or if the wound is already dry. i once had a scratch due to a wire/spring poking out of a very old mattress, since it wasn't deep (it just bled for a maybe a minute) after cleaning it i immediately applied cebo de macho. the scar didn,t really disappear but you can only see it if you remember where the wound was and if you look at it in a very bright light.
