adolescent dieting and exercise tips?!

My ten yr.old daughter is alittle heavy.mainly in her abdominal area and wants to trim that area over the summer. ANY TIPS? THANK-YOU

Yep, enroll her in a sports activity she would enjoy. Such as softball, soccer, swimming, anything. If she is just a little heavy and 10 yo, she should not be worrying about her weight. She should be having fun. The best thing is to be active and enjoy.

Mom take your daughter for nightly walks, good bonding time. You can talk about anything under the sun. Don't do it as a way to get your daughter to lose weight but a way for you and your daughter to build agood relationship. If you begin this habit now, she might be willing to continue it through those rough patches.

Keep fresh fruit and veggies in the house. Get rid of the junk food. It helps no one, and I mean no one. Model good eating for your daughter. Don't force her onto her own diet but have the whole family eat healthy this summer.

My biggest concern is yoru daughter developing that terrible habit, judging herself byher looks and how thin she is. It is a nasty habit and extremely hard to break. She is only 10, she does not need to worry about it.

no kid EVER needs to go on a diet, just stop buying the fatty foods, and her weight will go down. kids are way to young to be on diets.
